Pokecade is a modded Minecraft server built around Cobblemon, a Pokemon-themed Minecraft mod. Its documented Fire Red realm combines survival building with catching and training Pokemon, trading, land claims, raids, and tournaments.
The important requirement is easy to miss: Pokecade directs players to its own Java and Fabric modpack. This is not a server you should approach with a guessed vanilla setup or an address copied from an unrelated listing.
Is Pokecade a good fit for you?
Pokecade is worth considering if you want survival building alongside Pokemon collecting, battles, and trading. The server’s Fire Red guides also document raids, tournaments, land protection through Flan, and two trading systems: GTS, a marketplace for Pokemon and items, and Wonder Trade.
That combination may suit players who want a survival project alongside structured competitive and group activities. It is a weaker fit if you want ordinary vanilla Minecraft or need a documented Bedrock connection. The official joining route reviewed for this article uses a Java Edition Fabric modpack and does not provide Bedrock instructions.
Pokecade publishes a store, but the public page reviewed here did not provide enough information to assess the balance of paid benefits. This article therefore makes no claim that the server is or is not pay to win.
What you need before joining
Pokecade’s official instructions require the Pokecade Cobblemon modpack. The official project page currently identifies it as a Java Edition pack for Fabric and lists Minecraft 1.21.1. That number describes the client pack shown on the project page, not every Minecraft version the server may accept.
Use the official Pokecade joining instructions to reach the correct download and setup route. The official page offers Modrinth and CurseForge options. If you want to verify the project before installing it, the Pokecade Cobblemon modpack on Modrinth shows its current platform and Minecraft compatibility.
Do not substitute a similarly named pack or assume the newest vanilla profile will work. Modpacks depend on a specific loader, game version, and set of included files.

How to join Pokecade
The documented route is:
- Open Pokecade’s official joining page and choose one of its supported installation methods.
- Install the exact Pokecade Cobblemon modpack.
- Start that modpack profile in your launcher and wait for its mods to finish loading.
- Open Multiplayer, choose Add Server, and enter
play.pokecade.org. - Save the entry and select Join Server.
The intended result is a connection to Pokecade using the server’s required pack. These steps describe the official route; they are not a record of an independent connection test.
If the pack does not load or the connection fails, stop before changing unrelated worlds, deleting mods, or trying guessed addresses. Return to the official joining page, confirm that you installed the exact pack and version it currently links, and follow its Discord support route if the problem remains. A public web page being available does not prove that the game server is reachable at every moment.
Fire Red survival, trading, and activities
Fire Red is Pokecade’s documented Cobblemon survival realm. Its guides cover catching and training Pokemon, competitive play, land claims, a player marketplace, Wonder Trade, raids, and tournaments.
The GTS is a player marketplace for Pokemon and items. Wonder Trade provides a separate Pokemon trading feature. Treat prices, limits, commands, and taxes as live server configuration rather than fixed promises, because those details can change.
Pokecade also documents raids and tournaments, but their existence should not be read as a guarantee about schedules, rewards, participation, or current availability. Check the current Fire Red guides and server announcements before joining for one specific event.
Read the rules before choosing a base
Pokecade documents Flan as its land-claim system. The rules prohibit griefing, stealing, scams, unfair advantages, and exploit abuse. They also say that players must get permission before building or claiming within 200 blocks of another player’s claim.
That distance rule matters during your first session. Before committing valuable items or a large build, choose an area away from existing claims and review Pokecade’s server rules. If it is unclear whether an area or action is allowed, stop and use the server’s documented Discord ticket route rather than relying on an assumption.
The public sources reviewed for this profile did not establish a reset schedule or a guarantee that a particular world will remain unchanged. Check current announcements before investing time in a long-term base.
Important limitations
Several details remain undocumented or unverified in the sources used here:
- No supported Bedrock joining route was found.
- The exact range of client versions accepted by the live server was not established.
- No reset schedule or permanent-world guarantee was found.
- Precise RAM and operating-system requirements were not documented.
- Current availability, moderation outcomes, and gameplay performance were not independently tested.
Pokecade may therefore fit a Java player who is comfortable installing its exact Fabric modpack and checking live announcements. Players who need Bedrock support, a vanilla client, or a firm long-term reset promise should resolve those points through the official support route before committing to the server.
