The new server is ready for it's grand opening. I'm hoping to use this post to highlight some of the new features. Although I and the other staff have tried to get everything right the first time, we're bound to have missed something, so please have some patience and help us out if you notice something is out of whack.
For a little bit of background:
We tried sticking with the Wild West theme for spawn as much as we could. Personally I think the spawn looks fantastic, so be nice haha. Things are a little more spread out than normal though, so make sure that your first stop is the Town Hall (you can't miss it), and take a look around. Most of the information about the town can be found there.
And now for the new Features:
Extra /sethome 's
You can now purchase extra sethomes with in game money. Right now we are only offering 5 sethomes, but once we get a feel for how the economy is going to grow, we'll set prices for up to 10. You can buy extra sethomes in the Land Office Building.
No more worrying about being attacked out of your claim! Everyone starts with PvP toggled off. To turn it on, simply visit the Sheriff's Office and turn it on. Please note though that this is the only place you can toggle your status, and it can only be done once every 2 hours. You can easily tell who is PvP and PvE by looking at the player list (press and hold TAB). Also, their nametags will be colored according to their status (Red for PVP, Green for PvE).
Build your own arena
One of the new commands we've implemented is the /claimpvp command. This will allow you to PvP in the claim you're standing in. There is a 30 second buffer, which warns everyone in the claim, before the actual toggle takes place though, so hopefully it will be harder to trick people with it. You can also investigate the status of any claim by right clicking with a stick, as normal
This is the first world you join, and is where /spawn is located. It has pregenerated plots all over to allow players to build shops/decorations/whatever. Please no lag machines or massive farms though :). While we are trying to be less strict on what you can build in your shops, we may occasionally ask someone to remove some item frames/signs/etc if they end up placing too many and the entity count is crazy high.
Here are the relevent commands for the plots:
/plotme claim - claim the plot you are standing in (limit 2)
/plotme biome - change the biome of the plot you are in
/plotme home[:#] - teleports you to one of your plots
For a full list of commands, visit http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/plotme/pages/commands/
Once you've looked over spawn, grabbed your plot, and laughed at some of the easter eggs (I hope), you'll probably be ready to start exploring the SMP world. To do this, you'll need to go upstairs at the Town Hall, and right click the Glowstone Block. This will teleport you to a random location in the smp world to start your adventure.
NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE
Because of some limitations with multiverse (I plan on writing a wrapper to fix this very soon), once you use the glowstone, you can't use it again. What this means is that you should always have at least one sethome in the smp world. When you teleport, you automatically have your first sethome placed where you land. If you do delete that home, or set it somewhere other than the SpaceBugSMP world, you'll have to have a friend help you get back to that world. If you want to return to spawn, use /plotme home or /spawn. You'll also get another warning in game.
The livemap has a new address. It's minecraft.dk/spacebugsmp or, just click on the livemap link up at the top
Previous donors / Loyal players
I've put a considerable amount of thought into the best way to go about doing this. What I think will end up being the easiest thing to do for me, is to simply do it manually. So if you are a donator and you which to have your name color transfered, and access to /craft (if you had it, if you didn't you can purchase it now with ingame coin), please send me a /mail ingame. please keep it short and simple though. something like /mail send 10becja i donated. Also note that I really won't take kindly to people trying to trick me (i can check old permissions) so please don't try
As for a reward to players who stuck it out with the server, we're still working on a good solution for that. In the mean time, I need to collect names of players who stayed around. As I can not think of a good way to go about doing this however, it's pretty much going to go on the honest system. I already have a fairly good idea of who the players are, but if it's a name I don't recognize I'll verify with others who I know stayed active. Either way, if you were one of the players who stuck it out, please send me another /mail ingame. this one like /mail send 10becja I <3 SpaceBug or something.
Miscellaneous (including World Downloads)
The old world files are ready for download. Please note that they are very large though, so it may take some time to download. To download, copy/paste the location into your browser. It should prompt you to download.

NEWWorld: Download link
Please let me know if you have any trouble getting them downloaded.
I think this is all the relevant information for you guys. I'm sure I've overlooked something, so I may make changes here and there. Tardis has been working on updating all the site pages as well, so keep an eye on those for extra information. If you have any questions at all, please ask them here: http://minecraft.dk/forum/general-minecraft-server-talk/questions-about-announcment

An additional feature I forgot to mention
Is someone bothering you in your claim? Simply use /eject and they will be removed from your hair. No more need to get in trouble by enderpearling or snowballing someone out of your claim :). The command will eject anyone that does not have some form of trust
