This server was honestly such a big part of my childhood that I'm overwhelmed with the nostalgia and melancholy that comes along with this server going. It has taken me a while to be able to conjure the ability to put my thoughts into words. I knew that the server's popularity and activity was waning throughout the years, especially when I spent my first night as the sole person playing. Playing alone became all too frequent as time passed. In good times, I was able to have my own humble corner of the map, enjoying my own devices. I'll miss all of you, whether we were friends or foes, the memories will stick with me forever and always. Although small in relativity, your impact on my life, and possibly many others, is something that brought me growth, friends, and experiences that I will forever cherish. Goodnight, Spacebug.

I was very sorry to hear that this server is closing. I had a lot of good times playing with you guys and I'll definitley miss it. Even though I don't play minecraft anymore, it just feels weird that this server won't be here anymore, and I won't have the chance to get on and just say hi.
Do you know what the last day of the server will be? I'd for sure like to hop on one last time.

Dead thread is dead however thought I'd chime in.
Very few of you will recognise me, I played for about a month at a time every other year while on long breaks from work. Once again on a break and looking to pick minecraft back up... how sad to see SpaceBugs SMP is dead.
If anyone does remember me and finds a half decent server that resembles this one (the ones i've seen so far are way to easy and the economy is bloated) then add me on steam.

Times change don't they. Rip SpacebugSmp.
I think my favorite projects over the years were Burger Rail (rail line out of spawn in.. world 2? 3?), Cake Town and my brick and coal castle ruins under a water covered glass ceiling... if anyone has screenshots of that I'd appreciate them, I never took any...) ohh and Justy's Shop with the rainbow glass disco dance floor and icy basement... that was a fun build. Oh also, my carousel! Man... memory lane here. I'm sure there were more I'm forgetting.
I don't play much MC lately, but I did get into making some "Vanilla Mods" in 1.12 (done with mcfunction files), I had a server up running them for for a while. The server is still running though it's pretty dead lately, I updated it to 1.13, but did not update the mods yet so its a running as a pure vanilla world, feel free to stop by... and try not to tnt the place all to hell while your there.

Thanks to all the players over the years who made SpacebugSMP a great server. It was a honor and pleasure playing with you all. I will also miss the countless of hours in your company.
And a giant thanks to Becja who took the heavy task of continuing the server when I couldn't find time for it anymore. It takes a ton of time and dedication to keep a server running and updated. You are a star Becja.
Who knows, maybe one day SpaceBugSMP will rise again

A few people have been requesting world downloads, so here's a list of the 3 most recent worlds. I have a snapshot of world 6 from when we announced the closing (5/29), and I also have one from last night (10/11). I'll make both available for download once they are cleaned up. Hi 10becja. Have to say that I'm sorry to see that this server has been shut down. Do you by any chance know what world was present during 2015? My friends and I were at our peak on the server at this time. Also, I tried downloading and playing world 4 and it worked, but I couldn't find any player made buildings or any evidence that players had been there. Do you know what to do? @10becja
Any help is greatly appreciated. I really want to see my old buildings and home.

Hey everyone im CaveMC aka CaveCaptain aka Baltop #1 for 3 worlds, but anyway I have a proposal for the return of SpaceBug. I will provide an investment of $5000 USD to revive the server. I happend to be experienced in marketing on platforms such as Facebook, google, and instagram. I will run facebook ads for the server to generate a mass of new players daily using my demographic targeting techniques that specifically target Minecraft PC players. All I need is SpaceBug's approval which he can email me at - Caveolous@gmail.com -. If you have all of the previous staff members contact information and if they are willing to continue their service as well then we could make that happen. The investment that I can make would go towards the monthly plan thats required ( $60) for MCprohosting, so we dont have to worry about donations for a couple of years, and marketing the server to players who are interested in Minecraft PC throughout the world. Also some in SpaceBug's pocket 🙂 .What im looking for is the similar structure of the 1st or second world with the Dynmap and everything was simple. Like chest shops, floauction, grief prevention, Mcmmo, /sell hand, $5 cactus/pumpkins/sugarcane etc.

This is a pretty damn late reply but I'm gonna miss this server. I decided to make a forums account today and seeing all these people brings back memories. I was MuscleBob1, and I joined Spacebug SMP during the second world, around 2013-14, which was my favorite world by far. This was one of the first servers I played on in multiplayer and I met several great friends who I'll miss. I left the server a couple years ago cause I was getting busier in life, but I'll never forget the memories I've made on this server. Some friends I'll miss especially are Lmh4603, The_Marauder and MarksMustard. Haven't talked to you guys in years. If anybody wants to hit me up, my discord is Bob#3947. Very late seeing this but I have to say Thanks to spacebug and everyone that made playing on all the worlds over the years enjoyable!
I've not played much minecraft lately so I don't know if anyone will remember me but on this server I honestly had some of the best times I've ever had playing a game.
I don't know what more to say... Thanks for the memories!!
