Alright so I've tallied the votes, and after trimming all the alts that were used (thanks btw, now I know who lots of alts are), accounts that never joined the server, or accounts that were banned the final count was 80 for reset, 53 against. So looks like we will be resetting.

The other results are:

People voted to keep the ability to toggle pvp
People voted for a reset of the economy (read about that here)
People voted to allow for small benefits to carry over

As for things that will be carried over, here's what staff has decided that is most fair

Things that WILL carry over:
- All buycraft purchases (you will need to be re-nicknamed if you have purchased a nick)
- The number of /sethomes you've bought
- Any commands that you've bought, such as /craft
- If you had a warp, you can set one up in the new world
- 1 row (9 slots) of inventory space (read more about this here)
- Spawn plot location (but not actual buildings)
- Banners

Things that will NOT be carried over:
- Balance
- McMMO stats
- Buildings in your spawn plot

It will still be probably another week or so before I'm ready to do the actual update, so you still have that time to get a warp, more sethomes, or whatever. Both the main world and the spawn world will be available for download, so you won't permanently lose all your had work.

Before the reset, I'll do another free-for-all day(s). I will, of course, make the downloadable world of a version before the free-for-all.

Any question, don't hesitate to ask!

Hey Everyone!

This is literally just a copy of the post I made here

As many of you know, Mojang released version 1.9 of Minecraft not too long ago. Surprisingly, the upgrades to Spigot and our plugins isn't taking as long as I thought it would. There's still no real ETA for when we will update, but it will be soon.

That being said, there are a few pressing questions that I would like to allow you guys to vote on before the upgrade; Specifically, whether or not to set PvP on everywhere by removing the ability to toggle it, whether or not the overworld should reset, and whether the Economy should get a massive overhaul (this would only happen if there's a reset).

As a reminder, if the overworld is reset, that will reset everything (not Buycraft purchases, those will carry over). This means that everyone will start out from scratch, and on equal footing. If people vote to not do a reset, instead of expanding the world border, I would create a much smaller, temporary world that would get reset every month, similar to the nether and end. Claims would not be allowed in the temp world.

If the world does reset, this would give us a good opportunity to overhaul the economy. The point of doing the overhaul is because when we add a Skyblock server, the economy will be completely different than the current Economy. The overhaul would try to make things a bit more comparable between the two servers. It would be much more player driven, and prices for things that are super easy to make would be drastically reduced (such as charcoal), and a lot of things would not be able to be sold at all. However, this would also allow us to greatly lower the cost of claim blocks, spawn eggs, sethomes, and other items. It would take some getting used to for sure, but overall it would be much more balanced.

Feel free to ask any questions below!

Alright so I was not able to get the voting to work, and I'm not sure when Space will have time to be able to take a look at it (it requires something I don't have access to).

In the meantime, I've set up some polls using a different website. Unfortunately, this means that you'll have to provide your minecraft name for each question, rather than it be attached automatically.

If pvp would always be on, would you be safe in your own claim? Or is there no safe zone?

Honestly, if the world resets again, I think I'm out.

But then again, I've played on three worlds here now, so who knows.

And I'm quiet, and not publicly involved on this server, so why am I really making this post?

Hey Trickster87:

There isn't an end-date set yet - but its probably fair to assume that the voting will stay open for at least a week total (unless voting grinds to a dead halt). So if you haven't voted yet, you should do so soon!

There are 4 questions/voting options:
1) Restart the world or expand the border and leave the world as is
2) Allow players or 'carry over small benefits' or not
3) Keep PVP toggleable or all the time (except for claims)
4) Overhaul the economy or not

Note: If you like the idea of “Small benefits” be aware that there are no guarantees even if the majority vote 'yes'. At the end of the day the admins will decide what is and isn't 'too much of a boost'.

They might decide after a 'yes' vote that we're allowed to:
1) bring a limited amount of items (via enderchest, inventory, or some plugin that provides even less space),
2) that certain items aren't ok because they could 'ruin' the economy and write a code that prevents people from storing 'economy-breaking items' in their '1.9 migration' invenotry
3) focus more on giving 'bargain rights' for current world achievements rather than letting players bring their own items (i.e. customized lore items for MCMMO, /BAL or Claimblock achievements) and perhaps put some players in the Hall of Fame for significant achievements.
4) just focus on stuff like 'keep your plot shop spaces (cleared of content)' or start all 'veteran' players at two sethomes rather than the standard 1 sethome
5) or say "everyone starts with a Gold Shovel... just like everyone else, but if you are a 'veteran player' you can have lore on yours for bragging rights."

If you want to post/discuss 'small benefits' do so here http://tinyurl.com/h9ax76s.

Not a huge fan of PvP, but definitely think it would back many players from first and second world.

Something that would be cool is to have a plugin like chess where you could put out an "Open Invitation" for a pvp match and the two players would warp to an arena. Or a kit pvp type thing where the winner gets money from the loser and it's a level playing field.

RKKC, I was thinking about that for a while and people kept saying "that's what hardcore is for". I really like that idea of kit pvp, could be cool as long as it does not make the main smp part lag or anything like that. Players could also get to bid on /duels (invitation) if they wish using some a plugin. This would satisfy all those players who always are into pvping and can not pvp as there is "pvp toggle". But pvp toggle really helps players by allowing them to choose whether they wish to pvp or not.

I think reset should come AFTER spring break, so players will have equal time and other people can't get a head start on things

Do we have a timeline yet? I don't think we should hold restart for spring break . I mean no matter when you restart some players will have more time than others. I would like to see whatever is going to happen , happen as soon as possible.

Yea, whoever told you that was what hardcore is for was wrong. Hardcore is a completely unique gametype, custom coded by our own amazing 10becja. If you have played our hardcore you know what I mean. This server's Hardcore game is amazing in its own right for sure, but definitely not a standard pvp plugin.

Just tossing this out there. I run a 1.9 spigot server and I have mcmmo running great on it as well as most of the main plugins this server uses atm. So with that said. Seems like 10becja can make the switch relatively soon. (I can't wait! :D)

We've been pretty clear: There is *NO* ETA for when the update will be. We don't know, Period. The best we can give you is "It will be soon, keep checking the forums for updates". If an update isn't posted in the 'Announcements' section of the forums, nothing has changed.

You can always change the version of Minecraft you are using so you can play on 1.8. If you check the "Tutorials/help/Tips" section of the forum you'll see this (http://minecraft.dk/forum/tuto.....ese-steps/) a step-by-step guide on how to 'downgrade' your minecraft to the current server running version with pictures.
