PS. As a side note, I have done absolutely 0 testing on my own for 1.8, so I really have no idea what is/isn't broken.

Hmm, There is no edit button for the "Server Announcements" forum. Sorry for double post.
Monster Eggs purchased at the Spawn Shop can be used on Mob Spawners to change them into that type of spawner. Such as a Villager Spawner that spawns villagers instead of a skeleton spawner.
Slime Blocks can grief other peoples claims or steal blocks out of them (Same with Plotme world). Using a sticky piston push a slime block onto a block on the edge of another persons claim. Retract the piston, and it carries the block which it was touching.

Server announcement forum should now be fixed like normal threads (just you guys can't make new topics)
I believe i've fixed the mob spawner thing
I've also expanded the border 5k blocks to let you guys check out new stuff. Everyone should be able to use /fly as well to get there faster
I did some testing, and it looks like you can steal blocks with just regular sticky pistons as well. I'm currently working on how to fix that.
One thing that I know is completely broken is the name coloring on name tags to tell if someone is pvp/pve. It's not something I can fix right away either, unless they fixed the "ghost" problem with teams (i'll investigate after fixing the slime issue)

About mcmmo stats: From what I can tell, they convert properly, until the first restart
By that I mean anyone who connects the first time after the plugin is updated, their stats get carried over. However, if you don't log in while the server is in that first run, when it restarts, it purges the database of any players without a UUID (absolutely terrible design, but I think most of you know how I feel about the plugin anyway).
So when it comes time to actually update it, I'll have to make sure everyone knows that they need to log in at least once asap in order for their stats to stay
*disclaimer* I don't actually know if this is really what's happening or not, but it seems to be the case.

Okay so after spending literally all day on this damn piston thing, i've come to one conclusion: canceling spigot's event that is fired when a piston retracts doesn't work the way it's supposed to.
that being said, for the time being it looks like if we update people will just have to not put things right on the edge of claims.

when you said that updating to 1.8 will break things in your original post what kind of things did you have in mind? I know things like the lapis enchanting are changed and iron golem farms have to be manual kill etc. Did you mean server mechanics would have to change or other gameplay features i've been too dense to notice.

I don't know for sure. I haven't gone over the list extensively, which is part of the reason I opened the test world, so you guys can find all the quirks

My MCMMO stats are now showing on the test world. Not sure if it fixed itself after another log in, or if you did something. Thought I would let you know.
Also had this weird graphical glitch happen while I was flying around in search of rabbits: Probably nothing you can fix, I just thought it was interesting, lol. A simple restart fixes the issue. Happened while running 1.8.3 with no Mods active.

Last time i restarted it I copied over the old stats. It seems to confirm my suspicions that the stats are fine up until the first restart

it's okay to still mess around. Mostly what I'm concerned with testing is the new 1.8 features and such. Specifically if there's anything that's not protected with griefprevention that should be

No livemap. Don't have a specific date in plan, but probably either this weekend or next. Depends on when I get enough free time.
