You might have seen this error several times (I know people keep asking on IRC) – just to make it 100% sure: This error comes from Notch’s server (The server that handles logins and auth requests).
There is nothing I can do about it – just keep trying to login – it will come after a good number of tries.
Notch also wrote about this on his own blog: The web server is struggling, we’re migrating
The mentioned errors look like this:

I was stuggling with this for almost 3 hours yesterday – gave up and upgraded to 1.2.2 and been playing single player.
Keep up the good work Claush – I know there isn’t much to do at the moment, but I know that you are trying to keep yourself updated on the Bukkit+mods situation – I am having a hard time finding any kind of feedback from minecraft.net/notch/bukkit on the current situation regarding site and mods.

Yeah Znabel, we should all just use this transition period between hmod and bukkit as a break.. There are so many things going on in parallelle, but I am sure it will become good in time (both Minecraft and Bukkit).
I do have an option in this Took to long to login – to disable auth completely, but it will open up for random people to spoof usernames (example mine), and get access to stuff they shouldnt have — But I am not going there there – no need to slack on security.

What about this? http://forum.hey0.net/showthread.php?tid=4101
Maybe we can make it so that you have to PM you, Screek or Taizun to get put on the list, so that you can play… It’s just an idea though

No Im not going into small temporary solutions – that might not even work with our hmod version. Notch will have this fixed today or tomorrow according to his Twitter.
Often the best solution is just to wait and not panic install stuff

Hey Claush, just a slight (tiny) correction:
The mentioned errors look somehow like this:
That’d mean it, strangely and we don’t know why, looks like that. I think you meant “somewhat”

@glen
I experienced this problem as soon as I upgraded to 2.2. I have no idea why but I believe you can’t join becuase the servers have not updated themselves to 2.2 also. Just a logical guess

This is happening to me as I attempt to access my own server using the command termnal created by the RUN.bat bukkit file. but it does not happen when I use the Minecraft_Server.exe file Are there any recommended fixes for that?
