Server

What is this?
First of all, if you do not know what Minecraft is, go to minecraft.net and check it out.
Minecraft.dk is a Minecraft Beta server that makes you work for your resources. This means that you can’t spawn items or ask for them.
The server uses a set of mods and wrappers to make sure players can build and mine in peace. You can get more server-info on the about page, which you can find here. If you know what Minecraft is, but you don’t know how it works, look under the ‘In-game’ section in this FAQ.

Why can’t I get into the server?
This server has a whitelist. That means that only players who are placed on the whitelist can get into the server.
If you want to be put onto the whitelist, you’ll have to make an application (more about that later).
Sometimes the whitelist will be turned off; in that case, you can get on the server even if you have not applied.
If you know for sure that you were already approved, but you are not able to get onto the server, go to the forums and look for anything related to you (look at your application topic too!). If you can’t find anything, post in your application or contact a recruiter, mod or admin through a PM on the forums.
Sometimes the server is rebooted, for example to install or update plugins. You can not connect to the server while it is rebooting.

Why can’t I build/destroy blocks while on the server?
To be able to build/destroy blocks on the server, you’ll have to be approved first. More about that later.
If you are approved, but you still can’t build, make sure that you are not trying to build in spawn, as it is protected.
It can also be that you are encountering something called ‘block lag’. This means that there is lag between you and the server, which causes blocks you place/destroy to disappear/reappear. Most of the time, the blocks will be placed/destroyed after a while anyway.

Who is staff?
You can see a stafflist here.

What are the rules in this server?
You can view the rules here.

What ranks are there?
There are six ranks in total. I will list them here, and describe what they can do.
Guest
This is the rank that you have when you first come into the server. They have white names and almost no access to commands, except for some basic ones like ‘/me’ and ‘/msg’. Also, they are not able to build or mine.
Approved
This is the rank that you get when you are approved. They have yellow names and access to most commands.
Donator
This is the rank that you get when you donate at least $15 to the server. This gets you a reserved slot on the server (you can join if the server is full). They have access to all the commands that approved have access to. They have a light green name.
Recruiter
This is the rank of people that… Well, recruit people into the server. They have access to more commands than Approved (for example, they can kick). They have a blue name.
Moderator
This is the rank of people that are moderator on the server. They have access to nearly all commands. They can also ban people. Their name is cyan.
Administrator
Only Claush, Screek and Taizun have this rank. They have access to each and every command there is, and they can shut down the server. Their name is dark red.

What mods/wrappers are used here?
You can always find an up-to-date plugin list here.
This server uses a number of mods and wrappers to ensure that players are able to build and mine in peace.
The base mod used is Bukkit. On top of that mod, a number of plugins are used. I’ll list them here, and go in-depth for each one in the ‘Mods/plugins’ section of this FAQ.

Applications

Why do I have to apply?
The reason you have to make an application for this server to play is to prevent griefing/stealing. It is also used as a way to make sure the people in the server are mature. By screening people before letting them in, players have a peaceful environment to build and play in.

How do I apply?
You can apply by making a topic in the ‘Applications’ forum. Make sure to use this form, or your application will not be considered. Do not lie about anything, because it will be found out and you will be banned from the server.
Make sure you don’t take 10 seconds to make this application, as it will almost certainly be declined. Instead, think about what you write down; it’s not that much work, and you’ll have a much better chance of getting into the server!

Why is nobody responding to my application?
Just relax. People don’t live their lives on these forums, and it can take some time before a recruiter can get back to you. Most of the time, a recruiter will get back to you within three days (most of the time much faster). Do not create topics whining about you not being approved yet, as it will greatly diminish the chance of you getting approved. If necessary, you can bump your application after 5 days or more.

In-game

How does this work?
It’s actually really simple; left-click to destroy blocks and right-click to place blocks. If you have no idea how even this works, I recommend you play a bit of creative before trying your hand at Beta.
Now, you can also craft things using the workbench and smelt things using the furnace. You can also craft things in the 2×2 crafting table in your inventory. The simplest recipe is one log in any of the slots, which gives you four planks. You can then place one plank in each of the slots to make a workbench. For all the recipes (and for other things too) you should take a look at the Minecraft wiki and especially at the crafting page.

What are the controls?
You can walk with ‘WASD’. ‘W’ moves forward, ‘S’ moves backward, ‘A’ moves left and ‘D’ moves right. Furthermore, you can press ‘Q’ to drop one of the item/block you are currently holding. Press ‘F’ to change the fog distance (less far is better performance). One through nine (1-9) above the keyboard can be used to select a block/item in your inventory. In multiplayer, press ‘T’ to chat.
All these controls can be changed in the options. Just press ‘Esc’, click on options and then on controls.

What commands are there?
You can type ‘/help’ in-game to see what commands there are. For commands that are related to plugins, please see the ‘Mods/plugins’ section of this FAQ.

Can I build anywhere I want?
No. There’s some restrictions as to where you may build.
You can’t build in spawn. Also, you can’t build in/really close to someone elses building, unless you get their permission. Do not make additions/fixes to others’s buildings.
For the rest, just make sure that you build in the already explored area. This will prevent the map file from getting too big.

Is there some kind of quick travel system?
You can set a home with /home set. This will set a respawn-point, so if you die, you will spawn here. Besides that, there’s also Stargates. These are positioned throughout the map, leading to various Team-areas and official areas, such as the starter-town. A Stargate costs 500.000 gold to set up. Warping and teleporting is no longer enabled due to performance issues caused by the many warps and teleports made all the time.

Mods/plugins

What is Bukkit?
Bukkit is a mod for the server that gives it additional options and commands. You can read all about it on their site. The server uses a number of plugins with this mod.

AntiBuild
Official thread
This plugin makes it impossible for guests to build or destroy anything in the world. That’s the only thing it does, but it does it well.

AutoRepair
Official thread
This plugin makes it possible for you to repair your tools and armor. If you have the required resources on you, it will even do it automatically. The command you need is /rep. You can repair the tool you have in your hand with a simple /rep. To repair an item in a certain hotbar slot, use /rep [1-9]. If you want to know how many blocks are left in your tool, use /rep dmg. This is also compatible with the hotbar thing: to check the damage of a certain tool, use /rep [1-9] dmg. To see what resources you need for repairing it, use /rep ?. Again, compatible with the hotbar thing (/rep [1-9] ?). You can also repair your armour with /rep arm, and see which resources you need for it with /rep arm ?.

  1. HI there i where thinking would, u reopen the rp server, if u could.
    Course i got a computer here with 4 gb ram intel i7 processor. and i would love to donate that to a server (;

    • If Nikmi approve, the RP map will also be avaliable for download here on the page one of the following days (Will try and do it today, but cant promise it)

  2. how do i make like parts for players in my server where they can or can’t build and where pvp is.
or like some server editor :s

    • well, if you have Craftbukkit mod installed, you can just use a zone plugin like Epiczones or Worldguard. Define zones and set specific restrictions in them.

  3. euhm…
    I downloaded and installed 3 mods. Planes + guns + vehicles …
and I made a server for those mods to the files that went …
and now I can no longer spawn in some way, even ordinary items …
I spawn with toomanyitems, and the normal code (/ give) (name) (Item ID) (number)
Both of working but not. does anyone know how you can solve this??
    thanks
    Mike
